This Vegan Bolognese Sauce is a hearty and flavourful dish that's easy to toss together. Made with your run of the mill pantry items, this savoury sauce is composed of simple ingredients. A dinner dish bursting with flavour and chock-full of vegetables, for one very satisfying meal.

1 medium onion
1 medium stalk of celery
280g mushrooms
2 medium carrots
4 cloves garlic
⅓ cup red wine
1 teaspoon cornstarch

You can purchase the following ingredients here:

1 tablespoon oil   AND     2 teaspoons Italian seasoning

1 teaspoon onion powder     AND     1 teaspoon sugar or other sweetener

1 pinch of red pepper flakes     AND     salt to taste 

pepper to taste    AND     3 cups (750g) crushed tomatoes

2 cups vegetable stock     AND     1 bay leaf

1 cup lentils     AND     1 tablespoon soy sauce or tamari

1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar     AND     ½ cup plant-based milk

225g spaghetti or other pasta
